I make the process easy for you by:
- Preparing, as well as lodging, all your legal paperwork;
- Taking the time to really get to know you; talking you through all options for your ceremony, then researching and writing a unique, personalized ceremony that reflects you, your values and hopes and dreams for the future.
- Providing as many resources as you could possibly need for readings, rituals, vows, ring ceremonies.
- Use of state-of-the-art PA system that includes a CD player and IPOD/MP3 connectivity.
- Looking after all the ceremony details on the ‘big day’, leaving you to relax, focus on each other and soak up the atmosphere;
- Delivering your ceremony with the care and grace, humour and warmth that you and your guests deserve.
And, we have lots of fun along the way!
Our first meeting is an obligation free meeting during which we discuss the legal aspects of your marriage, your wishes for the ceremony, and how I can best work with you to ensure your ceremony is a perfect match for you both. It is an opportunity for me to get a sense of you, and for you to determine if I’m the right celebrant for you.
To secure your booking, a non-refundable deposit of $200 is payable. Upon receipt of the deposit, I send you a comprehensive resource kit, which gives you options for all aspects of your ceremony. I also email the questions to enable me to prepare your legal paperwork. (It makes it much easier for you, as all you need to do is check and sign it.)
Once I receive the information for the legal paperwork, we organize our next meeting date which is when you sign off on the Notice of Intended Marriage, and I sight your passports / birth certificates, photo ID and any other relevant information, ie. divorce certificates, death certificates. We then start working together on the details of your ceremony.
The ceremony is drafted, and worked on until perfect. At this time we communicate as much as is necessary.
We meet again within a week or so of your wedding to go over the final details of your ceremony as well as complete the next legal document (a Statutory Declaration stating you are free to marry each other). Some couples choose to do this at an onsite Rehearsal; whereas others prefer to catch up informally. A Rehearsal has the benefit of easing nerves (we cover choreography details) and generating excitement; whereas some couples prefer to let it unfold organically on the day.
On your wedding day I arrive in plenty of time to ensure that everything runs smoothly and according to your plans. All you need to do is relax, enjoy the moment and focus on each other. I promise to take care of the rest for you.
My fees are reasonable, and reflect really great value for the quality of the ceremony I write and deliver. I am always happy to talk to you about ways I can fit in with your budget, so please don’t hesitate to contact me for an initial discussion. As a general rule of thumb the following applies:
For Melbourne Metro or Mornington Peninsula ceremonies*
Wedding with all the bells and whistles – $750 (this includes as much contact as you want, a unique, personalised ceremony, use of my PA for music and amplification, a resource folder which gives you endless options for inclusion in your ceremony, an onsite Rehearsal, all legals, and anything else you could possibly think of… with the possible exception of a sky-diving or under-water wedding!!).
An elopement style wedding – $500 (a handful of guests, short wedding ceremony (options for personalising, i.e. writing your own vows), all legals, resource folder, meetings at my place in Northcote)
Commitment Ceremony – $550
Renewal of Vows – $350
Baby Naming – $350
